This is only several months after, in the beginning of season 5 he celebrates his 51st birthday, that’s why Jesse gave him the watch. Then by the time we get to the end of the first half of season 5 they point out that 3 months have passed, when Skylar’s sister said we’ve had your kids for 3 months now. So it’s not that far into the future, about half a year.
I honestly think that the scenes in the future with the house being tagged and the fact he has an alternate identity has to do with the suppliers he left hanging. He wasn’t in a contract for a few months or a year with them, he up and quit after making a deal with drug dealers, that never ends well and I feel it will come back to bite him in the ass, on top of the battle with his brother-in-law.
Another interesting thing is the M-16. If you remember the scene when Walter and his son were watching the final scene from Scarface when Tony went out with the M-16 with the grenade launcher. I’m wondering if Walter will meet the same end as Tony Montana.
